My Story

I was born on the April 7th, 1997 and I was the 1st child, so I was very spoilt. In 1998 when I was 1 year old my mum returned to work, so I started day-care where I quickly made friends and learnt how to share and follow a routine.
In 2000, I became a big sister to James. I learnt to help my mum and dad take care of him by bathing and feeding him, and showing him how to play with toys.
In 2001, when I was 4 years old my Nanny was diagnosed with breast cancer. Although I was little, I can remember my Nanny losing all her hair and being very sick from the treatment she was having. I was scared to go near her in case I hurt her. She had lots of different coloured hats.
I started Kindy in 2002 at Claremont Meadow Public School where I had a great Kindy teacher named Mrs Thompson. Mrs Thompson showed me that school was a fun place where I could achieve anything.
In 2003 my little sister Ashley, was born and our family was now complete, and I was able to help mum look after Ashley as I knew what to do.
In 2006 my hard work at school paid off as I was awarded an academic achievement award for outstanding project research.
2007 was a hard year for my family, as my mum had a back operation. Being the oldest child in the family I had to help run the house and look after my brother and sister.
I had a great year in 2008. At school I was elected as a Library Monitor, won the school Spirit award and graduated from year six.
2009 is the next chapter of my life because I started high school where I have made lots of new friends and teachers.
Throughout my life so far I have learnt lots of skills from many important people that have made an impact on my life so far. I have realised that there will be good times and not so good times, and when things aren’t going so well I will need to keep a positive attitude.
